The Professional

It should be no surprise that I'm the person who "always" has a different hairstyle every day. It might be something simple, like leaving it down or a ponytail with a pretty accessory, or something fancy. But preeetty much, it's different every day.

As you can imagine, this fact tends to generate regular feedback - pretty accessory, cool hairstyle, etc. Whatever the comment might be.

Anyways, today was one of those days...

haha, it's not really fancy in my books, but then again, my knowledge/skill when it comes to hair-related styling seems to be quite high in comparison to everyone else?

So yeah, I had about two-thirds of my hair in a bun with fringe (lol), held in place by an elastic (for the initial pony) and a hair comb. The bottom part, I braided it. But apparently, it was super cool since I didn't do the regular braid.

Basically, at lunch, one of my co-workers was like, "OMG! Let me see your hair!!" so I turned my head to the side to show her the braid since I did it on the left side.

And then she was all amazed because it wasn't the "regular" braid. I replied saying it's a fish-tail braid, to which she drew a complete blank. Then I was like "Uhm... You know, like with 4-strands?"

To this, she was like, "I can barely do a regular one! You're like a professional! You know how to braid, French braid, everything..."

I wouldn't say I'm professional, but playing with my hair can definitely be a hobby? XD

And yes, I know how to braid, French braid, Dutch braid, fish-tail braid... I know how to use bobby pins, hair elastics, hair sticks, hair combs... I still haven't figured out how to use hair pins, but I think my hair is too thick for the ones I had. They were pretty flimsy so I ended up chucking them.

Oh! And one thing I still haven't figured out - how you braid/weave ribbon into your hair! I really want to do that, but yeah... No idea how >__<;;

But yeah~ I mean, playing around with your hair is one of the perks of having long hair! Why bother if you're not going to do anything with it? I mean, if you have long hair and don't do anything with it, that's cool too... But it's in MY style books to do something with it.

Now if I could only learn that ribbon trick! I really like ribbons too. I tend to use them as headbands since I find actual headbands get in the way and cause headaches.

So a while back, I was griping about the fact that I was getting headaches and body aches on top of being sick, partially due to my hair and sleeping. Apparently the two do NOT get along >__<;; Though I try to keep it out of my way, it usually ends up under my back which means that it's hard to turn my head when I'm sleeping on my hair.

As a result of this conversation, and probably the conversation of what I'm "known for" (pink and cool hairstyles), Khalia came to me with a situation. haha~ Basically, she wanted to know if I could replicate Hatsumomo hair from Memoirs of a Geisha. In the movie, they used wigs and stuff, but somehow, it must be possible to replicate it!! And so, I was given the very important task of trying ^__^

Sooo... That is EXACTLY what I do when I'm given a hair challenge!!~

Ooh... The attempts

Goodbye, Goodbye

*sigh*

So yesterday, I was packed and shipped to the dermatologist. haha, fix one problem and then find another one... Anyways, my case of acne has dramatically worsened after taking medication for something else, that shall not be discussed (because it'd be TMI).

I used to be able to eat a couple chocolates before I would notice any effects. But after that other round of meds, I eat one and I'd get 4 big ones, almost immediately... =__=;;

Because of that, and the fact that the cleanser system I was using wasn't working... My mom has been on my case with the whole "You look hideous!!" nag. Oh yeah, gotta love mothers...

As a result, she set up an appointment for the dermatologist for me and it was yesterday. They ended up selling me a medical-grade cleanser kit and stuff for my body since I get them all over my back too... Yuck, I know. And yeah, now I'm on anti-bacterial stuff to.

As you can imagine, that stuff is not cheap! Well, the medication is partially covered, but the other stuff... Bah.

I just hope it works because it'll totally suck otherwise.

So yeah, this month I've seen lots of my money going down the tube... Expenditure here, expenditure there... It's a wonder how you actually save up any money!! Grrr...

haha, so other things I bought so far... A new knit shirt, a hoodie, a necklace, sudoku books (or homework as we call it), Versailles 2012 calendar... Not to mention we've been going out more with church friends, so that takes money too...

Then I had to pay rent/car stuff and just yeeeaaaahhh...

Not to mention, the wishlist has grown AGAIN. Anyone want to get me a PSP for my birthday?? LOL~

Bleh. I'm always super tempted to buy this or buy that, but I must control myself!! Seems like I'm going to go super in the red this month and I don't want overspending to set the tone of my financial situation for the coming year.

Seriously. And the month ain't even half over yet!! >__<;;

'Tis Used

Mwahaha... So looks like destiny is in my favour! I used Braden's gift card and it's not even Christmas yet!!

Sooo... One of the things on my wishlist was a rod curling iron. haha, I was iffy about getting it at first because well... It's so girly!! And BRADEN is the one to front the money... Also that it wouldn't be enough to cover all of it...

Finally, last night, for some reason I felt like re-reading some of the mangas I have. I went downstairs to drag up my box and ended up finding some cheapy curling iron that I must have bought from Wal-mart. Well, that piece of junk couldn't even put in a single curl! It only curled the end slightly and then was flat a couple hours later... Junk!

That was when I decided that I would get it because the curls are both really, really tight and completely wild when I use my foam twisties. And I want pretty wavy curls!

Then...

At work today, my boss was like, "Can I talk to you? It doesn't have to be immediately, but soon." I wasn't super busy, so I went to go talk to her.

She gave me a gift card for some of our local malls!! As a thank-you/Christmas present.

I'm not sure if anyone else got one. I didn't want to ask in case they didn't... But awesome!! Because I could use it at Sephora~~ Which is where I got it from!! And it was MORE than enough to cover the curling rod!

I used up all of Braden's, just because that think is kind of annoying... Lol. Like how you have to either make sure it's "exact" amount or less. And then I used the gift card and still have some left over...

Yippee!! So I didn't pay a DIME on that thing!! Woohoo~~

Not to mention, my uncle's Christmas money came in yesterday! Just have to deposit the check~~

Yeah, I know... I'm totally spoiled by everyone around me ^___^

I'm totally excited. I've already used it twice now! First to try it out... And burned my neck in the process... Oops. But then I took a shower and then redid the curls after I dried my hair... AHAHA~~

Still takes a while to curl all my hair, but mostly because I have so much hair to begin with (I totally shouldn't complain about that...) and because of my inexperience. But! I should get faster once I get more practice with it~

Oh... The Irony...

I hate to say it... But THAT'S a first!! Lol~

I got yet another early Christmas present since I had the chance to get together with Braden today. He was in town for a business meeting yesterday and we got together for lunch since he stayed the night. I don't think I got him anything last year and I didn't get him anything for his birthday this year (which is in November), but since we were actually going to meet up, I figured I should get him something for Christmas.

I didn't bother the times before since I wasn't sure WHAT to get him and it can be such a pain to mail things out... XD

Anyways! We exchanged gifts and our policy is to open it right away (if there's anything to open...) since it's nice to get an immediate response as to whether or not we liked it. His suggestion (when I asked) was to get him beer... Ugh, I am NOT going to buy him beer!

Since I haven't got any for him in a long time, I decided to get him cologne. Calvin Klein Eternity Aqua for Men, to be exact.

As for me... He got me a prepaid Visa card!! Because he figured, "I'm sure you'd have something you want, even if I don't buy something for you."

And he's right! Except...

Now I don't know what to buy!

...
...

o___O;;

Miss Shopaholic does not know what to buy?! Hahaha, how can that possibly be?!

There are things I want, of course, but now that I have money to spend, there's nothing I desperately want.

Not to mention, it's kind of annoying because you either spend LESS than the full amount, or you spend EXACTLY the same amount. If your purchase is more than the total amount, you have to first pay the difference and then pay the remaining on the card. Otherwise, it'll bounce because you don't have enough to purchase whatever it is.

That means I can shop online, but I'd most likely have leftover amount. And obviously I can't split payment when it comes to online shopping (my preferred method). The other option is to buy something in store... But what?!

So yeah... Like I said earlier, there's things that I would want, but it's nothing pressing that I would super really want it... Though it could be nice. And yet, might not be worth it either.

At least I have a year (since the activation date) to think about it, without them charging an extra amount. Starting from the 13th month, they charge a $2 fee for carry over, basically until the value of the card reaches zero. And mm... There was some other caveat that I can't think of off the top of my head.

What to get... What to get...?

Like usual, looks like the only present I'll get on Christmas Day is my sister's! :P
