The Japanese Calgary

Lolz~ We made it to Fukuoka! All in one piece I might add... Or 5 separate pieces for me, considering how much luggage I have >_< I'm going to be like super strong by the time I get back...

Anyways, on Canada Day, we met this guy from Calgary over in Harajuku. How interesting is that!? haha, he was wearing the Flames jersey and I was like o_O "Ang!! Check it out!!" So yah, we went to chit-chat with him. Pretty neat~

We told him of our plans and he said that Fukuoka is a lot like home in terms of population and what not.

All I can say is that it's nice here... Unfortunate that we only have one full day here, but it is quite like home. At least what we've seen so far... Of the downtown area.

We'll probably go hit the beach and shopping tomorrow... Gah. Typical girls XD

Seriously, I have like double the amount of stuff now than what I brought and it's ALL crammed into the same suitcase. It's bloody heavy!! And the limit is only 50 lbs... 50 lbs?! Like that thing must weigh as much as I do! Sure as heck feels like it...

We still need to go to Kyoto and I have stuff I want to buy from there for sure, so it's like *sigh* Where will it all go!? The extra duffle bag I brought is like waaay too big to be lugged around for that many days... I'm only going to use it when I leave from Kyoto... So yah. I seriously want to weigh our bags cuz Ang's is no better :p She has her stuff from Korea to lug around too. Honestly, no clue how she packed everything...

That said, I can imagine the look of pure horror on my mother's face when I return and she sees exactly how much I brought back... Ahaha~ It's not ALL for me, but like yah... Probably like 80% at least...

Ironic that I watched "Confessions of a Shopaholic" on the plane ride there...

Japan Pictures

I'm still alive... Barely... Ahaha~ Just kidding~

But yes. I've been very lazy about updating regarding my trip, so I'll probably just do a segmented update when I return.

Oh my gosh! It's so hard to believe... It's almost been a month already. We leave the guesthouse on 月ようび (Monday) and it's a さびし (sad) time. haha, just to show that my time here hasn't been a waste XD

It's been really fun and we've met a lot of people, so it's going to be sad to leave everyone. Not to mention, to eventually return to all the inconveniences of Canada... Not that there aren't things there that I miss.

Anywho~ I'm slowly posting pictures (some) on Facebook so check them out when you get the chance ^^

First Weekend in Osaka!

haha, wow... Time just flies by! I can't believe that it's already the weekend... But it's been really fun so far!

For school... I'm special... Lolz, I was way behind compared to everyone else since I only knew how to read/write hiragana and katakana, but didn't know how to actually read anything... So for the first 4 days, I was being tutored one-on-one... So stressful! Cuz on Tues and Wed, I even went in early...

School is usually 1-5pm, but they had me go in at like 11am or 10:30am (supposed to be 10, but I was late... XD). So the day was like extraaa long.

The guesthouse isn't like what we imagined, but it's pretty good I suppose. Like we share a small room that has bunkbeds. I'm on the top... :) Been so long since I slept in a bunkbed. We thought it was more apartment style, but it's actually more like college dorm... We share bathrooms and showers and kitchens.

Everyone here is really really nice though! (Except one, but we won't get to that...)

It's really cool how we meet people from all over the world! Like in our guesthouse, there's people from India, Saudi Arabia, England, Australia, Germany, Sweden, States... And at the school, China, Phillipines, Pakistan... The two we're "closest" to are from our dorm and go to the same school as us. They're super duper nice!!

haha, like I finally joined their class yesterday, and I'm still kind of behind cuz I don't understand as much in terms of vocab. They both sit close to me, since I took Ang's spot. (She moved to the bit more advanced class. It'd be weird if we were in the same class...) So since I don't understand all the stuff, the guy in front of me will whisper to me what it means and stuff.

Also, they've been showing us around. Like the first day, they took us to school cuz we had no idea where it was. One of them showed us where the nearest supermarket is. They took us to places to eat that they like. Food is yummy!! They took us to Shinsaibashi (a shopping district). They were going to go back there last night to go drinking with some of the other guys here, but we decided not to go. Both of us were feeling extra ugly/greasy/stinky XD

Instead, Ang did my nails and we watched Twilight... Ahaha~ It's so bad >_< I think the story actually had really good potential, but their acting was sooo bad. And considering what I heard about the characters of the story... The people they cast totally didn't match at all. But whatever; that's a totally different story :p

Since Ang took a shower last night, she's sleeping in. But the plan is that we're going to go for ramen for lunch. Then meet up with this other girl from our school to go to Shinsaibashi. We went pretty late last time; not to mention that the guys were with us... They were really nice about it, but still. You feel bad making people wait for you when you know they're not interested.

Oh! But there's a funny story to that... We got separated from the guys when we went to Shinsaibashi um... Thursday night. Anyways, we went into those arcade-ish places that have those bubble vending machines... So we all went in to look around. Me and Ang were looking for something to buy. She got this poo light for her friend (inside story to it) and I got one from Katekyo Hitman Reborn for my sister. But when we came back out, it was like "Huh?!! Where did they go?!!"

Lolz, we tried to find them and thought maybe they walked further in... So we left for a bit, but was like "They wouldn't just leave us..." Went back to the place, but still didn't see them... Eventually we kind of gave up and walked further by ourselves. But it still felt kind of weird. Not to mention, those "host"(-lurer) guys... XD We didn't want them to talk to us... The first guy who did was pretty nice cuz Ang told him (in Japanese) that we're foreigners and he backed off, apologizing. The second guy was pretty pushy... Saying he was Taiwanese and whatever, until his friend told him to just stop... XD

Anyways, we thought it'd be good to wait for them by that Glico running man picture. It's like this big plaza-ish (?) place... So we were like "Oh my gosh! What do we do now?!" type of thing... We noticed this guy behind us, and Ang was like "Oh, he's pretty 'ying'." (cool) Then afterwards, he was asking us something... hehe, so we got to talking to him. He was originally from Cleveland and he was like "I'm so happy to meet people I can talk to!" cuz he doesn't know Japanese. We might meet up with him again later on since Ang gave her e-mail addy to him.

But yah, every day is like a new adventure!

Checkin' It Out~

Ahaha!! This is fun~ny! At least, it is to me XD

Today, I went out for a walk with my mom and my sister. It's really nice out (like 26 degrees), so as you can imagine, we're all in t-shirts and shorts. Well, short shorts for me and my sister.

Anyways... We were just walking around our neighborhood and we were going the long way to the Tim Horton's nearby and then going to loop back to our place (in a circle, almost). So as we were walking, I heard this noise that was kind of like "Ahw~" or "Oww~" and it was like what the... I turned to see where it was coming from...

Lolz~ This guy was sticking his head out of the car to look at us, but they didn't stop or anything so I guess he couldn't see that clearly.

We kept walking.

So farther along in our walk, we "met" them again... They were pulling out of this turn-in where all the condos/town houses were.

This time, the guy literally stuck half his body out of the car to look at us...

Bwahaha~ Like what the heck... Totally checkin' us out~

But yah, I'm leaving tomorrow morning!! So excited now! ^^ hehe, I'll try to update so it's not like this massive 6-weeks' worth update at the end.

Packing It Up

It's kind of hard to believe, but I'll be leaving in three days!! I leave in the morning (10:20 am) on Saturday!! Which means I'll have to be at the airport by 9 am. At first, I thought it was 2 hours in advance, but then I realized that my first flight isn't international, but rather domestic. Then I have to wait around 3 hours before I leave from Van. Arriving in Seoul 15 minutes to 6, my flight from Seoul to Osaka is at 7:15 pm and I don't arrive until 9-ish... Yikes! Pretty late.

Poor Ang~ She's going to have to wait like 9 hours cuz she arrives around noon. At least, I think so. All I know is that she's going to have to wait a long time for me...

Anyways, I've pretty much packed up all my stuff!! haha, we'll be traveling around by ourselves afterwards, so I purposely put the duffle bag I purchased from LV in the bottom of my suitcase. That way, if I need (I'll need it), I can pull it out before we take the flight back. The only things missing are things I'm still using like the hair dryer, deodorant, face cleanser and the like. Other than that, I think I pretty much got everything.

Made my little list and checked off what I have already XD

I already decided that I wouldn't start looking for work until after I came back, so it's been pretty relaxing... hehe. I haven't done much. Mostly, I've been reading. While I was working, I printed off some of my stories... And I mean like my 100+ page ones... Lolz~ I printed off 3 of them and a couple short stories. I've put them in a huge binder, so yah. I was just reading through them.

I dunno. It's weird cuz I want to write, but don't really want to at the same time. I do have stories to finish, but I don't want to work on them. And the stories I do want to work on, I don't really have any ideas for them... Go figure >_> Ah well.

I finally got my room into shape as well, so it's relatively clean... I hate having all those little tidbitty things that you want to keep, but you have no idea what to do with it or where to store it. So in the end, I just end up throwing them somewhere... :p

Oh! And for something totally random, I ate some strawberries today! Yum! They were actually sweet ^__^ Except my mom had them in the fridge, so I had to let them warm up to room temp before I ate them. I don't like cold fruits. I think they taste funny, not to mention that the "freeze" your mouth.
